The challenge

Perimeter security energizers are distributed across large sites and often across multiple sites. Without a central system, faults are found by patrol rather than by alarm, configuration drifts between units, and there is no reliable record of who changed what. Any replacement platform had to run continuously, tolerate unreliable site connectivity, and be operable by security staff rather than engineers.

Our responsibility

Gandeevan owned the full software platform — device gateway, core services, data layer and operator console — plus the integration with the energizer hardware. One team was accountable from protocol level to the screen a guard looks at.

What CFS 3.0 enables

  • Real-time alarms with zone mapping
  • Device health, status and remote commands
  • Searchable event history with a full audit trail
  • Multi-user access with role-based permissions
  • Offline caching with eventual synchronisation

Technology

  • Containerised microservices (Docker)
  • Node.js APIs and device gateway
  • MQTT and WebSocket live telemetry
  • MongoDB replica set storage
  • React and Next.js operator console

High-level architecture

  • Devices — energizers connect over MQTT, WebSocket or TCP to a secure device gateway.
  • Gateway — normalises messages and handles authentication, rate limiting and buffering.
  • Core services — alarm engine, policy and rules evaluation, and command dispatch.
  • Data — MongoDB for time-series telemetry and events, with relational storage for configuration.
  • Interface — React and Next.js dashboards, maps and control screens for control room and field use.
  • Operations — versioned container images, backups and monitoring.

Results

24×7
Continuous operation
Milliseconds
Live status updates
RBAC
Audited access control
HA-ready
High-availability deployment
  • Faults surface as alarms instead of being found on patrol.
  • Energizer control is centralised rather than performed unit by unit on site.
  • Every command and configuration change is attributable and searchable.
